Memorial Day Service in Corvallis at the National Guard Armory

On May 28th, The Benton County Veterans Memorial will be hosting a service in Corvallis to honor our local fallen veterans and their families.  The service will he held at the Corvallis National Guard Armory at 1100 NW Kings Blvd.

Recently students volunteers from Corvallis High School planted almost two thousand flowers at the memorial.

The memorial service will include music, refreshments, special speakers, a 21 gun salute and a F-15 fly over that children are sure to enjoy. We suggest arriving before 2 PM as the flyover is scheduled for 2:10 PM. Also the names of 190 local area veterans who have given the ultimate sacrifice will be read.

How will you observe Memorial Day? Do you know someone special that deserves to be honored? Please share with us here.

I will be going to the commemoration at the Armory as has been my custom since moving to Corvallis a decade ago. Maybe I’ll swing by for a coffee there afterwards or beforehand :)
