An Inspiring International Coffee Convergence in Portland

The coffee universe all came together this past weekend in Portland, Oregon  for the annual Specialty Coffee Association of America 2012 Exposition. This year, the international event attended by thousands of coffee pioneers, professionals and enthusiasts, was in Portland, OregonThe Coffee Culture team from Corvallis was there and it was eye popping to the say the least.

The level of skill and passion for the coffee bean has reached crazy new heights and has me asking, again, where to next? Don’t expect to experience any of this at your typical “McCafe”. The quest for the perfect cup is being led by fearless individuals who will try pretty much anything to coax wondrous and distinct flavors from each coffee. Inspiring? You bet. We were proud to be there and look forward to sharing our coffee inspiration with Corvallis.

Here are some photos we took at the event.

Garrett finds a really good espresso.

Paul tastes the Roasters Guild Coffees of the Year.

The U.S. Barista Competition. She made cotton candy for her signature beverage!

The mother of all coffee brew bars – you name it, these baristi can brew it.

All things relative to the coffee biz – from seed to cup.
